Hey there! I'm Cynthia.

I'm a Product Designer with a solid 2 years in the industry, playing around in various fields like insurance, artificial intelligence, B2B, and even diving into some cool social impact projects. I also recently graduated with a Masters of Science in UX Research & Design at the University of Michigan (Go Blue!).

As a proud South African with a background in Information Systems, and an occasional photographer, I bring a unique perspective to my role as a designer by merging my technical expertise with a creative eye for crafting meaningful user experiences.

My Story

How did I get into UX?

In 2019, I entered a South African government-run competition that challenged the youth to design a mobile application that would connect lower-income citizens to government housing information. Getting third place for my design was cool, but you know what was even better? Getting to design stuff that actually makes a difference in people's lives. It kind of shifted my focus, and now I'm all about using my creativity to design digital products that have a positive impact on society.

Ever since this experience, I have seized every opportunity to grow as a designer and hone in my design skills!
